Nomads Race Night

After a lot of organising and despite a low turn out, Anthony and Chris prepared a successful Race night which took place at Cheam Sports Club on Saturday 16 th October. Unfortunately, Chris was unable to stay as his wife Helen had given birth to their new son Ethan that week. Congratulations to Chris and Helen!

The night was a great success with Anthony and Terry taking the bets and Mr Bond as the evening's commentator! The night got off to a good start with not only Nomads players turning up but also friends and family. Even Anthony managed to bring not one but TWO girls along! What have you been up to at Uni Ant?!

After a lot of shouting, people were winning bets left right and centre, well nearly everyone Jackie! Lots of money was being put on for different horses every race so the prize money was considerably high. The races were enjoyed by everyone and profits were being made.

The most interesting race was the auction, where bidding took place for people to buy their own horse. Tony Micallef, James and co owned 1 of the 8 horses. The other owners were; Terry and Mick, Anthony, Dave B, Simon and friends aka ‘the syndicate', The Hart family and Geoff. Emma, Andrew, Amy and Adam pulled together for their horse. The winner was Mr Bond who came away with £75 but generously put in £25 to the winners pot.

A big thank you to the social committee for organising such a good night, and for all of the people that turned up. We made a big profit and enjoyed the night. Looking forward to the next event!
